Game Development World Championship 2013 is a sequel of successful Viope Game Programming Contest 2012. In 2012 over 500 teams from 70 countries participated and Ancora team from Singapore grabbed the main prize.
Game Development World Championship 2013 is open to game developers and enthusiasts all over the world, from students to freelancers and professionals.

The teams submit their productions for Student or Professional category (see Rules for more information). All games are reviewed and judged by professionals of the games industry.

The contest is organized by Viope Solutions Ltd and is open from 08th of October 2013 and close on the 26th of January 2014 11.59pm GMT.

1. Enrollment of participants are divided into two categories: STUDENTS and PROFESSIONAL GAME DEVELOPERS.
  • Students: You and your teammates are currently registered as student(s) at a recognized educational institution (university, college, vocational school, high school). Your student certificate and your educational institution name are required if your production is shortlisted to the final judging round. Friends from different institutions can enroll together as a team, but the institution names must be provided separately.
  • Professionals: You or your teammates are not students. You have previous experience or currently work as a professional game developer.

2. The participant fills up the form provided via the enroll link with genuine information. The participant agrees that information on the enrolment form can be forwarded to partners and judges of the contest.

3. Viope Solutions Ltd. reserves the right to refuse an application.

4. Each individual or team (max 4 people) can compete for: COMPUTER, CONSOLE, and MOBILE platforms games.

5. A team member can be replaced during the competition.

6. Third party developers are not allowed.

1. The games are submitted via the Viope World e-learning platform before the closing date.

2. The game cannot already have a publication or receive an award in another competition.

3. Game instructions and a trailer video of the game must be provided.

4. The team owns full right on their game. Viope Solutions Ltd will not use any content of the game without the written (email or letter) consent of the team manager.

5. Computer/Console games must run on Windows, Mac or an Internet-browser. Mobile games will run on the targeted platforms.

6. Teams can submit a game using existing technologies such as engines, frameworks, models. Teams must own full right to use those technologies.

7. Teams can submit a game using existing content and materials. Teams must own full rights to use those assets.

8. Game contents are free, nonetheless, sexually explicit or suggestive, unnecessarily violent, abusive, threatening, racist, sexist, homophobic, vulgar, obscene, immoral, offensive, indecent, hateful, derogatory, profane content or the use of illegal drugs or the promotion of illegal activities are not allowed. The Finnish law is considered as the base-law for the contest.

9. Any breach of rules 3.6 , 3.7 and 3.8 will disqualify the team.
